In preparation for the 10 year anniversary of the Witch Creek, Harris, and Guejito Wildfires that occurred in October 2007, ISC was selected by San Diego Office of Emergency Services to conduct a survey of county residents to determine how well County residents are prepared for a disaster or emergency. The survey will utilize scientific research methods to obtain a 95% confidence level with a margin of error of 3%.

ISC, through our technical partner, was selected by FEMA to continue to support Hurricane Sandy Recovery Operations. Over the past 4 years, the ISC team has been responsible for preparing FEMA Public Assistance and Section 428 PA Alternate Procedures grant funding and the obligation of over $8 billion by FEMA. We are proud that our ISC team has been of high value to the FEMA recovery operation!
The ISC team knows that emergency preparedness must come on all levels; national, state, local, and individual. Recently, ISC brought Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training to the residents of Miami-Dade County, Florida. Over a series of three-day courses, community residents and leaders learned basic first aid, how first responders organize themselves, light search and rescue (LSAR), and more! In October 2012, Hurricane Sandy made landfall in New Jersey and New York City, damaging hundreds of thousands of homes, forcing tens of thousands of residents into shelters, and causing an estimated sixty-five billion dollars in damage to vital infrastructure system. Two years later, ISC continues to work with FEMA, NY SEMO, New York City, and local agencies, authorities, and private non-profits to administer billions in disaster recovery funding from this decade’s most devastating disaster.
Recognizing the necessity of engaging its community on important preparedness topics, ISC produced a 17 minute educational video for Miami-Dade’s Office of Emergency Management on how residents can best prepare for disaster. ISC worked closely with county staff and celebrities to produce a video that promotes community preparedness everyday. Watch the Miami-Dade Preparedness Video
In conjunction with the development of the 2013 Bi-State Kansas City Regional Coordination Guide (RCG), ISC developed customized interactive course using ISC’S ODYSSEUS | TEAM TECHNOLOGIES to assist the region in training its staff and partners on the key concepts operational elements associated with the strategic plan. This training also included a tornado scenario where participants can apply their knowledge of the RCG.
The RCG is an all-hazard, capabilities-based guide designed to address any of the hazards potentially affecting the Kansas City metro-area. The RCG is for use by all local governments, as well as Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to ensure a series of formal actions are in place to facilitate communication and cooperation between the many agencies and organizations in the region potentially involved in emergency events.
ISC was selected to assist in the development and promotion of South Florida’s private-public partnership program the South Florida Disaster Resiliency Coaltion. ISC researched national best practices in Public-Private Partnerships to engage public organizations and private companies of all sizes in building community resiliency from disaster. ISC’s early efforts have helped to put the SFDRC on the road to success.
ISC developed and facilitated a Hurricane Disaster Recovery Tabletop Exercise for Miami-Dade County using its innovative and cutting-edge ODYSSEUS EXERCISE SIMULATOR technologies. The Odysseus Exercise Simulator was customized specifically for Miami-Dade County Emergency Management and provided an effective process for engaging participants with visual context while ensuring compliance with HSEEP protocol. ISC not only received commendation for an excellent exercise but also the successful utilization of cutting-edge technologies that will advance emergency management.
Integrated Solutions Consulting (ISC) developed and facilitated a Hazardous Material Tabletop Exercise for Becker County MN that tests various vital aspects of their Special Events Operations and Management Planning. This tabletop exercise was in preparation of the Annual We Fest Country Music Festival. WE Fest is an annual three-day country music festival that is now one of the biggest country festivals in the nation.
