Integrated Solutions Consulting’s Comprehensive Emergency Management Program, Odysseus™, has proven an invaluable resource for the DuPage County Health Departmant and Chicago Department of Public Health, as both agencies manage their responses to the current Swine Flu Pandemic.
Both agencies used the Odysseus™ Preparedness and Planning System to develop protocols for managing an occurrence of pandemic influenza. Today, these preparedness plans have proved invaluable for an efficient and effective response.
The agencies also are using the Odysseus™ system’s real-time capabilities to provide hourly updates to key personnel.
ISC was requested by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security (IDHS) to expand the State’s capabilities to effectively prepare for and respond to all-hazard incidents by developing and promoting a common Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) model that can be used to classify, analyze and plan for all hazard vulnerabilities or threats. While IDHS has specific programs related to both hazard mitigation and critical infrastructure protection, a common model and process for collecting information on individual risks of Indiana communities would promote overall coordination of planning, communication and support the programmatic efficiency of Indiana’s ten Homeland Security Planning Districts.
